PM CARE Funds Not a Public authority Under RTI Act
PM Fund As in 1948 PM’s national Relief Fund (PMRF)created to provide relief to citizens, and that fund used for floods in North India, South India and Kerala, etc. Recently same as PMNRF created the PMCARES fund (PM’s citizen Assistance and relief in emergency situations fund) to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic .PMCARES fund before 30 June was tax exception under Income TaxAct,1961. Because of pandemic to tackle countries condition lakhs of public, private employees donated salary and some of them deduction done without their consent. Recently, PM CARES fund led to demand for its security, where the fund has used. But: .Supreme court rejected and said PM CARES fund divert in NDRF .Denied the petition audited by CAG .Its created the lack of transparency.
